Among those emigrant families, there is a family of Mr. Ly Ky Kia Chieu who chose the high right bank along the My Thanh river estuary (now Bien Tay B hamlet, Vinh Trach Dong commune, Bac Lieu city, province). Mr. Ly Ky Kia Chieu is the great-grandfather of Mr. Ly Kim Chieu - the owner of the house next to the mango tree, at that time, Mr. Kia Chieu's family saw that the mango tree was bigger than a hug. This land is a coastal land, with salt water all year round, but under the mango tree there is an underground water source, the special thing is that this water source is fresh water, it is this water source that helps keep the mango tree lush all year round. People here have dug holes to get fresh water to use in daily life.

Legend has it that: At that time, it was still a sacred forest with poisonous water, there were many wild animals, under the mango appeared a tiger, but it was strangely gentle, never disturbing the villagers. on the contrary, people feel protected by this tiger. Therefore, the villagers have honored the tiger as  "God of the Tiger", every year on the 28th day of the 7th lunar month, solemn worship is held under the mango tree. folklore of the local people to pray for all the peace, favorable rain, and a happy and prosperous life.

Despite such a long life span, every year mangoes still flower and are very wrong, especially mangoes are very sweet, in the ripe mango season, the fragrance spreads throughout an area, the people here are often very proud. called  "Old Mango". Currently, the mango tree is one of the attractive attractions to attract tourists and is a place for activities and entertainment of local people. With its longevity and rare characteristics, in 2015, the tree was recognized by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment as a "heritage tree" in Vietnam. Currently, the ancient mango tree is under the ownership and management of the Management Board of Huynh Thien De Temple.
