TPO - Faced with the news that the aquarium with giant dragon architecture at Thuy Tien Lake Park (Hue City) is about to be demolished, many young people, residents, and foreign tourists have come here to check-in. , took a souvenir photo for the last time.

On the afternoon of January 31, information from the city authorities. Hue said that the aquarium building attached to the giant dragon image at Thuy Tien Lake (Thuy Bang commune, Hue) will be demolished to beautify this park after many years of being in a desolate and ghostly state.

Along with demolishing the giant dragon-shaped house floating on the lake, the winning unit of the auction of liquidated assets on land at Thuy Tien tourist area also demolished many architectural objects and cleared the land of some buildings. Other decorations serve to beautify the park area.

Right from the entrance to the park, the previous large reinforced concrete main gate has been demolished.

The path leading to Thuy Tien Lake Park has been cleaned and cleared.

Wild plants in the art statue garden of Thuy Tien Lake Park have been cleared, cleaned and cleaned.

The water music stand at the downstream area of Thuy Tien Lake has been cleared.

Particularly, the house with a massive dragon shape, 20m high and about 50m long, is in the process of being prepared to be dismantled and demolished.

These days, many tourists, young people, and Hue residents have flocked to Thuy Tien Lake Park to visit the giant dragon architecture one last time.

Mr. Hoang Hai - a Hue resident, expressed his regret: "There are few places with giant dragon architecture like at Thuy Tien Lake. Demolishing this project is a pity. It would also be reasonable to retain it to create space for coffee businesses and other refreshment services to serve people and tourists visiting the park.

However, there are other opinions that say that, although this is a unique "masterpiece" of dragon architecture in Hue as well as other places, demolishing the project is a pity, but it must be done to hand over the project. clean land for the city to organize into parks.

It is known that Thuy Tien Lake amusement and entertainment park was built by Hue Ancient Capital Tourism Company since 2001, with a total cost of 70 billion VND. The project complex includes many items such as aquarium, water music stage, water games, walking path around the lake...

Among them, the aquarium with the dragon architecture winding around the aquarium in the middle of the lake is an outstanding project.

In 2008, Haco Hue Company became the new owner of the tourist area, continuing to invest in upgrading the project. However, by 2017, the business was no longer able to complete the project.

Over time, the complex of buildings becomes degraded, changes color, and is covered with moss, making this place magical, especially in the dark winter or at dusk. The Huffington Post (USA) once had a ghostly article and pictures about Thuy Tien Lake Park. Since then, Thuy Tien Lake Park with its magical dragon image became famous, becoming a tourist attraction for many curious tourists.

After that, the Thuy Tien Lake Park tourist area project was decided by the People's Committee of TT-Hue province to revoke the land and hand it over to the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment for management. September 2022, City People's Committee. Hue has approved the investment policy to embellish Thuy Tien lake park with a total value of 20 billion VND. The Thuy Tien Lake Park embellishment project is expected to be completed and open to serve people, the community, and tourists in March 2023. However, up to now, the project has not been able to be implemented due to problems with handing over the site.

According to Mr. Le Nhu Chinh - Director of Hue Green Park Center, when implementing the project, at Thuy Tien Lake Park there will be a 2km long, 4.5-6m wide walking path running around the lake, along the road surface. The promenade is paved with granite. Along with that are lighting systems, water supply and drainage systems and other decorations.
