About 50km from Kon Tum city, in Kon Plong district, Mang Den is located in the Truong Son range, at an altitude of over 1,200m above sea level, in the Northern Central Highlands.
Mang Den is the Kinh people's name, a deviation from the name T'mang deeng, the native M'Nong language meaning large, flat land.
Mang Den Plateau belongs to the tropical humid monsoon climate belt, cool all year round, the average annual temperature is from 18 to 20ºC.
