Phi Lieng Waterfall is located in Phi Lieng commune, Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province, about 70km from Da Lat city center. The waterfall is not only famous for its rare beauty, but is also an ideal place for tourists who want to challenge themselves
Known as the number one waterfall in the Central Highlands, Phi Lieng Waterfall has a wild, majestic and powerful beauty like the soul of the people of this vast land.
Also known as Seven Storey Waterfall, Phi Lieng Waterfall is not like other waterfalls that are planned as tourist attractions to make it easy for tourists to enjoy, but is considered a "treasure" of creation, a "gift". "For those who are brave enough and strong enough to overcome tens of kilometers of forest roads.
The road to Phi Lieng waterfall is very easy to get lost. Due to the location hidden deep in the old forest, this road has very high humidity, affected by fog and rain. The plow is the only vehicle that can move into the forest of the K'Ho people living here, so the trail leading into the forest is full of deep convex and concave tracks. Visitors have to cross many muddy roads, then conquer consecutive steep slopes. The slope here has quite a steep slope and is easily slippery, requiring visitors to be very careful.
Passing the slopes, visitors will begin to hear the sound of water pouring. The majestic waterfall lies vertically, the water rushes down, creating a sound that echoes among the vast mountains and forests.
This sacred and majestic waterfall is surrounded by overlapping stone walls. Surrounded by deep forests..., all create a wild, strong but also very loving beauty, like a unique quality of the sunny, windy Central Highlands land.
Coming to Phi Lieng waterfall, in addition to sightseeing, camping or swimming, visitors also have the opportunity to challenge themselves with abseiling activities from the cliff at the top of the waterfall. Abseiling is understood as a sport similar to mountain climbing. However, if climbing a mountain is going up, abseiling is going down by swinging along a rope. This means that when participating in abseiling, visitors will climb the mountain in a descending form with a rope as a safe fulcrum.
To be able to perform this adventure sport, visitors will have to go through skills training sessions, common situations, solutions and practice thoroughly before rappelling. Equipment from belts, helmets, life jackets, gloves... are fully provided and always checked before being distributed and before playing for all participants.
Not the only place to experience abseiling, however abseiling in Phi Lieng makes many visitors feel more nervous and worried due to the verticality and height of the cliff. With a length of 115 meters, this is the longest abseiling stage in Vietnam with an average climbing time of 20-35 minutes per person.
Ms. Hong Nhung (Ho Chi Minh City) shared her experience: “When I got to the edge of the waterfall to prepare to drop down, I was very shaken, scared and overwhelmed by the height. I asked the technicians who were adjusting the strings and checking my safety if everyone experiencing this was as scared as I was? The brothers answered: "No one walks out onto this rocky edge without fear, but a few steps down is all." Being encouraged makes me feel more secure. Indeed, after going down a few steps, my mood completely changed. Still nervous but mixed with excitement and excitement. Sometimes stopping in the middle of craggy cliffs to relax and watch the waterfall, listen to the sound of running water, and see how beautiful nature is.
As for Mr. Tran Giang Le Vu (Ho Chi Minh City), the experience at Phi Lieng made him "addicted" from the first moment. “We moved from the homestay to the waterfall by agricultural vehicle about 10km and then walked down to the top of the waterfall where we will start to rappel down. Feeling quite nervous right now. One by one, each person went down the waterfall, everyone went smoothly. I thought to myself, why are everyone so good? It's the first time everyone plays like candy.
It's my turn to be the last one. Right now it's about to rain, I'm afraid it will rain when I go down. But as long as you can overcome the initial thrill of the decisive moment: taking the first step back and falling into the waterfall, you can then enjoy the excitement of the vertical steps on the cliff. stone.
Actually, playing this game is not difficult and is very safe because the rope is anchored above and held firmly. Even if I release both hands without holding the rope, I still cannot fall. Just overcome the fear of heights. I went down a bit fast, normally people go 15 minutes, those who are very slow go 30 minutes, but I only went 7 minutes because once I got used to the feeling, I let the rope go and let it run freely to speed up the descent. Star. When I landed on the SUP, I felt sorry for how fast it was and wanted to play more." Mr. Vu shared.
Phi Lieng Waterfall is not a place for faint-hearted tourists who like to relax. However, if you want to test your courage and ability, as well as experience the feeling of being immersed in the immensity of many waterfalls, then Phi Lieng is definitely a must-visit place in your life. .
