(CLO) With ancient and unique architecture, Luong market tile bridge (Hai Anh commune, Hai Hau district) has become an ideal stopover for many domestic and international tourists.
The bridge was built at the end of the 15th century, designed in the architectural style of "Thuong Gia Ha Kieu", which means the upper house is the house, the bottom is the bridge, and is crossed by a Trung Giang river.
The bridge is built on 18 square stone pillars, each side is 35cm, arranged in 6 rows of columns to carry 6 because, support all 9 toilet compartments. Lying on the stone pillars is a system of large ironwood beams and beams to support the beams and raise the floor of the bridge and the bridge.
The two sides of the bridge façade are designed and decorated in the same way with striking yellow tones. Along with that is a soft-formed letter, with 4 words "Quan Phuong, Kieu commune", that is, Quan Phuong commune bridge (now Hai Anh commune, Hai Hau district).
Each bridgehead has 4 clams, both familiar and majestic. but has a deeper meaning. Similar to the saying "Four male clams return to their ancestors".
The tiles used for roofing are male tiles, which are roofed very well without being pushed and opened.
The tile roof looks like a meandering dragon rising up from afar.
The bridge is 2m wide, including many ironwood bars on curved beams. The bridge deck has many shorter wooden slats that are rounded to form ledges for pedestrians to avoid slipping.
The two sides of the bridge are two rows of corridors and are also curved along the bridge.
Outside the corridor is a railing with the upper and lower puzzles and 162 rhododendrons.
The inside is not carved much and is somewhat simple, but it shows the quintessence as well as the talent of the traditional carpentry of Quan Anh land.
To preserve and prevent the tile bridge from being damaged during industrialization, this place has built a 5m wide stone bridge, right next to the tile bridge for traffic.
In 1990, Luong market tile bridge was recognized by the State as a national historical and cultural relic.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich (60 years old, living near the Tile Bridge) said: “This bridge has existed for a long time and is the pride of our people in Hai Anh commune. Whenever I mention the Tile Bridge, I think of my childhood, coming here every hot summer afternoon. Until now, the bridge is still an ideal stop for many people when crossing here.
After more than 500 years, with 2 restorations in 1922 and 2011, but up to now, Luong market's tiled bridge still retains its ancient and rustic beauty, attracting all visitors every time they visit this coastal land.
