The workers only knew how to react in spontaneous ways such as cutting down rubber trees, protesting, fleeing... but all were severely suppressed. Faced with that situation, in 1928, comrade Nguyen Xuan Cu was sent by the Revolutionary Youth Committee of the Northern Association to "proletarianize" the Phu Rieng rubber plantation.
