Tinh Tam Lake is one of the most famous scenes of the Imperial City, now located in Dong Ba ward, Hue city. Originally, the lake was a section of Kim Long river that was renovated, its original name was Ky Te pond. In the 3rd year of Minh Mang's reign (1822), the Nguyen Dynasty mobilized up to 8,000 soldiers to participate in renovating the lake, turning it into a Royal Palace. After completion, the lake had a new name, Tinh Tam.
