Valley of Love is one of the most poetic landscapes in Da Lat, about 5 km north of the city center. That is where Da Thien dam gathers small streams flowing from high hills and mountains, forming a clear Da Thien lake winding around a green pine-shaded valley. In the 1930s, the governor-general of Indochina and French couples often chose this setting for dates, then named it Vallée d'Amour. During the reign of King Bao Dai, this area was called Hoa Binh Valley. In 1953, Mr. Nguyen Vy - Chairman of Da Lat Town Council at that time - proposed changing the name to Love Valley.
