Ban Viet Lake is known as the largest artificial lake in Cao Bang, with a total area of about 5 hectares, divided into 4 branches and surrounded by mountains and vegetation. The lake is located only about 3km from Ban Gioc waterfall and 70km from Cao Bang city center.

The ecosystem around the lake is diverse and rich, creating a vivid, colorful but no less poetic natural picture.

The ideal time to visit the lake is probably in winter. At this time, the red maple leaves make the scene look like a temperate maple forest in Europe.
