5. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel. Located in Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province, Quang Tri ancient citadel was built in the early Nguyen Dynasty. During the resistance war against the US, thousands of Liberation soldiers died at this historic citadel in a fierce battle that lasted from June 28 to September 16, 1972.

6. Do Table Citadel. Located in An Nhon town, Binh Dinh province, Do Ban citadel (Vijaya) was the capital of the Champa kingdom from 999-1471. At the end of the 18th century, the citadel was built by the Tay Son Dynasty to be the capital. Today, this place keeps vestiges of many different historical periods, from Champa to Nguyen.

7. Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel. Located in Dien Khanh town (Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province), Dien Khanh ancient citadel is considered to be the most intact citadel of the Nguyen Dynasty outside Hue still preserved up to now. According to historical records, the citadel was built by Lord Nguyen Anh in 1793.

8. Mac citadel. Lang Son city is the location of a citadel built in the Mac Dynasty. The work was built by King Mac Kinh Cung in the 16th century, consisting of two parallel walls, spanning two gorges, blocking the only path connecting Ai Bac to the South.

10. Vinh Ancient Citadel. Located in the three wards of Cua Nam, Doi Cung and Quang Trung of Vinh City, Vinh ancient citadel is 2 centuries old, a place marking many historical changes of Nghe. Today, the once-mighty citadel has only 3 gates left and the moats surrounding the old wall.
