Although moving from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, there are many passes, perhaps only Prenn Pass is the most impressive because of its majesty and spectacularity. Listening to Mr. Tien share, this place is not just an ordinary pass, but also has a historical story behind it.

Talking about the name of the pass, "Prenn" means "invasion" in Cham language. According to folklore, the pass area was inspired by Prenn waterfall, a famous unique natural symbol of Da Lat. From all of this, the name Prenn was born from then until now.

While listening, we looked outside, thinking that nature has generously bestowed upon this pass many heavenly beauties, attracting so many passengers from far away to visit. The pass road is as soft as a strip of silk dropped by the Creator, winding around the majestic Prenn waterfall. According to Mr. Tien: "The pass construction project began in February 1943 by contractor Gross, replacing the old pass from Prenn waterfall to the center of Da Lat. The new pass was designed with 79 curves, including curves with a radius of up to 1,000 m, creating a winding and attractive appearance.

The decision to restore the original Prenn Pass and create a parallel Mimosa Pass was made in the early 2000s. It was the government's effort to expand the Prenn Pass to meet growing traffic needs and improve the transportation system. area. However, the organization of one-way traffic between Prenn Pass and Mimosa Pass was not carried out as planned, causing Mimosa Pass to become a route to transport agricultural products from Da Lat to other provinces.

The year 2016 marked a notable turning point for Prenn Pass. The Ministry of Transport decided to change the route of Highway 20 to Mimosa Pass, and at the same time Prenn Pass became a local road managed by the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province. This change has created diversity and division of functions in connecting Da Lat city and neighboring localities."

People have even given it more friendly names such as White Villa or Prenn Pass Villa. He also introduced the cherry blossom garden, which when it blooms brings a lovely beauty mixed with the freshness of the vast pine forest. The bright apricot flowers brighten, making the pass more charming and attractive than ever.
