Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai said this is a very suitable place for eco-tourism development, with pristine natural scenery like river tourism in the Southwest region. Currently, people here are strongly developing aquaculture, implementing community tourism models, green accommodation... to increase family income.

"Sitting on a boat gliding slowly on the Kinh River, we followed the streams and creeks between the Tinh Khe nipa palm forest and felt like we were lost in the western provinces of the river. It was very interesting," said Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha, female tourist. from Hanoi said.

Mr. Nguyen Van Be (living in Truong Dinh village, Tinh Khe commune), shared that in order to preserve the nipa palm forest, each household in the village only harvests coconut leaves twice a year, in March and July. After harvesting the leaves, old, young leaves grow, creating ecological space for the coconut forest to become greener.

In April 2023, My Khe Community Agriculture and Tourism Cooperative was established to become a reliable address, a place to connect, join forces, and unite with people to do tourism. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Director of My Khe Community Agriculture and Tourism Cooperative, said that the Cooperative is equipped with life jackets, each boat can carry no more than 4 guests at a time, and prices are publicly listed to avoid solicitation. , arbitrarily raising travel prices.

From a few initial members, the Cooperative now has more than 30 households with nipa palm forests participating in community tourism. The entire commune has about 12 hectares of nipa palm area, concentrated in Truong Dinh village and Co Luy village, along the Kinh river.

According to Mr. Dung, community tourism is owned by the people, so they are also local guides; restore a number of traditional occupations from raw materials from coconut trees, sedge trees and aquatic resources to serve tourists.

“The cooperative  is designing many homestays right on the nipa palm forest as a place to stay for tourists; Build some internal routes leading into the coconut forest for visitors to walk. We set the goal of developing tourism to enhance the value of nipa palm forests to encourage people to be aware of managing, preserving and developing nipa palm forests to promote the unique historical and cultural values ​​of the locality. ”, Mr. Dung said.
