Experience & Experience Climbing Ba Den Mountain In Tay Ninh

Ba Den Mountain is famous as an "extremely HOT" tourist destination with countless exciting activities, attracting tourists who are passionate about exploring and conquering nature. Hãy nghe Trần Thuỳ Thanh Xuân (Đồng Nai) một travel blogger nổi tiếng bật mí .

1. Where is Ba Den Mountain?

Ba Den Mountain, in Tay Ninh province, stands tall at 986m and is known as the "Roof of the Southeast" or more beautifully as "The First Heavenly Mountain". About 100km from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Den Mountain is located in the Northeast of Tay Ninh City, part of the cultural and historical relic complex of the same name. Besides its impressive height, this place also attracts tourists with its charming nature, majestic mountains and countless folk tales that have been passed down by word of mouth for hundreds of years.

Although there is a modern cable car that takes you to the top of the mountain (Ba Den station is even recognized as the "largest cable car station in the world"), most young people who come here have the same goal of conquering the roof of the Southeast.

2. Directions to Ba Den Mountain from Ho Chi Minh City

You can choose two types of vehicles (if traveling in a group of three or more people) or go to Ba Den Mountain by motorbike. There are two main routes leading to Ba Den Mountain from Ho Chi Minh City.

- Departing from National Highway 22A, you go to Trang Bang intersection, then turn right onto Provincial Road 782; then, go about 62km more to Ba Den Mountain. Travel time is about three hours. You should stop at roadside cafes to rest and regain your strength to climb the mountain.

- Still on National Highway 22A to Trang Bang intersection, you turn left into Go Dau town, then turn right and continue on National Highway 22B for about 72km more to Ba Den Mountain. This route is long but easy to go, the scenery is beautiful, suitable for those who like to check-in.

(*) In addition, you can also take the bus from Ben Thanh station to Go Dau; Then, transfer the car from Go Dau to Long Hoa, Tay Ninh.

3. How many "trekking" routes are there in Ba Den Mountain?

Few people know that there are up to seven trekking routes, climbing Ba Den Mountain, including the temple route, the power pole route, the water pipe route, Ma Thien Lanh route, Phung mountain route, the white stone route and Ho Chi Minh road. If you are climbing Ba Den Mountain for the first time, you should choose the popular routes below:

3.1. Climbing Ba Den Mountain by the temple route

The temple route is located behind Ba Temple, considered the shortest but also the steepest route to climb Ba Den Mountain. Along the way, the wild trees grow quite densely at low altitudes, with many large rocky slopes, making it a bit difficult to climb. Wear long-sleeved shirts to avoid insect bites or scratches from trees. The green space along the temple route is very poetic, so it is quite ideal for those who love taking photos.

3.2. Climbing Ba Den Mountain by the power pole route

It can be said that the power pole route is one of the most favorite routes for backpackers. This route passes through cool mango and banana forests. There are also arrows and numbered power poles (from 1 to 117) leading straight to the top of the mountain, so #teamKlook doesn’t have to worry about getting lost. The power pole route starts from the Martyrs’ Monument and is quite long, with few people passing by and no “supply” shops along the way. You can stop to rest, drink water, and enjoy the scenery at markers 55 and 65. The climbing time ranges from three to five hours depending on your physical strength.

3.3. Climbing Ba Den Mountain by other routes

Ho Chi Minh Road and White Stone Road are two brand new names but have the highest level of difficulty. The conquest usually takes about two days, requiring a lot of physical strength and careful luggage. You should only go when you have a local guide who is knowledgeable about trekking and climbing in this area. In addition, the water pipe (behind Ba Temple), Ma Thien Lanh Road and Phung Mountain Road are also quite "tense", it is easy to get lost. Remember to pay attention!

4. When should you climb Ba Den Mountain?

As mentioned above, depending on the route, the time to climb Ba Den Mountain will vary from half a day to two days. You should choose to depart at dawn (if you want to go back in the day) and in the evening (if you want to camp overnight to hunt clouds). Avoid going at noon because the hot weather combined with high altitude shock is very dangerous.

In addition to the peak months of rain and storms, you should limit climbing in January and February of the lunar calendar, because that is when the Ba Mountain Spring Festival takes place, so there are many tourists, making it difficult to leisurely enjoy the trip. At the beginning of the fifth lunar month, there is a Ba Mountain Festival; you should also avoid this time.
