The 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Congress took place in Da Nang

The 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival will officially take place from June 1 to June 9, 2024 in Da Nang city. This congress has the participation of more than 1,300 athletes and coaches from sports delegations of 10 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and host Vietnam .

The information was given at the announcement ceremony of the recent 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Congress in Hanoi. The event had the presence of the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, representatives of the Embassies of the countries attending the Congress, representatives of central ministries, departments and branches, representatives of Da Nang city - the location of the event. On December 28, 2022, the Prime Minister signed Decision 1640/QD-TTg on hosting the 13th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) in Vietnam. Male. Athletes will compete in 6 sports: Swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, pencak silat, vovinam with a total of 107 competitions. With the message "Connect to shine bright", the 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival is not only a place to honor sports talent but also promote the connection of students from all over the world. countries in the region, unite for an integrated and developed Southeast Asian youth generation.

The mascot of the Congress is the red-shanked douc langur, a rare animal in Vietnam's red book, ranked as "Endangered" by the World Conservation Organization, as well as Vietnam. Through this mascot image, the 13th ASG also conveys the message of environmental protection to each student in particular and the community in general.  

The 13th ASG was carefully prepared by the host country, Vietnam, from the organization stage; professional image recognition system; the attention and companionship of news agencies from central to local, domestic and international.
