The Festival for Peace will open on the evening of July 6, 2024, at the special national relic Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks (Quang Tri).

Speaking at the opening press conference, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that Quang Tri is a land rich in cultural and historical traditions, with an important strategic position in the country's cause of building and defending the country. The Festival for Peace opened on the evening of July 6, 2024, at the special national monument Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks with the theme "Joining hands to create a peaceful world". This is the first festival carrying a message of peace held in Quang Tri and Vietnam to honor the value of peace, pay tribute to fallen heroes, and commemorate war victims; contributing to enhancing the position and image of the country and people of Vietnam; build Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace, a destination for peace, a meeting place for peace-loving friends from all over.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2024 Festival for Peace will include many notable activities, such as the Cycling Festival for Peace (June 29 and 30, 2024) with about 1,000 athletes from clubs.
