Go Thap tourist area has an area of ​​nearly 290 hectares, located in My Hoa and Tan Kieu communes. About 1,500 years ago, this land once existed a bustling emirate belonging to the Kingdom of Funan (I-VI centuries AD). The whole complex includes 10 architectural relics of Hindu temples, divine wells, residential relics, workshops, statues of Vishnu and many gold artifacts kept quite intact. This place was also the "headquarters" of the Heavenly Guardian insurgents Vo Duy Duong and General Nguyen Tan Kieu in the early days of our ancestors fighting against the French colonialists (the 1860s).

In 2012, Go Thap Urban Area was honored to be ranked by the Prime Minister as a special National Monument. This is a convergence of many great cultural, archaeological and historical values ​​associated with the Southern region. Research results have proven that Go Thap was the center of religion and belief during the Oc Eo culture and the "capital" of a small country belonging to the Funan Kingdom in the South.

After 1945, Go Thap was chosen by the Party Committee and the Southern Administrative and Resistance Committee as a resistance base in the period from 1946-1949. During the resistance war against the US and to save the country, Go Thap was also the place that marked the glorious victory of Battalion 502 of Kien Phong province (now Dong Thap) when they collapsed the Muoi Floor Tower (Observatory) of the Ngo Dinh Diem government. on January 4, 1960.

This area has many winding sand dunes that look like waves, forming clusters of floating mounds. On the mound, there are many ancient trees such as Trom, Dipper, Sao, Dau, and Thao Lao standing tall and giving shade. During the flood season, the vast water fields intermingle with green plants and trees, creating a magnificent natural landscape.
