Wind Pass Fairy Waterfall - Fairy of the vast land
The waterfall is located halfway up Gio Pass, in the middle of a primeval forest, in Nam Dan commune, Xin Man district (Ha Giang). The waterfall is also known as Double Waterfall, Gio Waterfall or Tang Tinh in Nung language, meaning "water flowing from a large hole". The waterfall is about 15km from the center of Coc Pai town, at an altitude of over 1,400m above sea level.
Regarding the origin of Tien Waterfall, according to legend, once upon a time there was a beautiful Nung girl, with skin as white as peeled wild bamboo shoots and long shiny hair. Every day, she goes to the forest to pick bamboo shoots and mushrooms to help her parents. She met and fell in love with the son of the Forest God. Knowing what happened, the Forest God was extremely angry and tried to stop him but failed. Angry, the Forest God used magic to transform her into mountain rocks, her hair turned into this soft fairy waterfall.

Tien Waterfall is formed from Ta Nan stream, originating from the limestone mountain range in Ta Cu Ty commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, flowing through the villages of Ngam Lam, Nam Chien, Tan Son, Thong Nhat, and Nam. Lemon from Nam Dan commune, Xin Man district, then flows into the Chay river and confluences at the junction of the suspension bridge in Coc Pai town. Ta Nan stream has many large rocks overlapping each other to form a wonderful ancient stone field. Around the waterfall area, there are vast forests with hundreds of years old trees and tangled vines, forming an endless green vegetation. Looking down from above at Tien Waterfall, Gio Pass is like a strip of white silk, softly winding between the green mountains and forests.

Tien Waterfall has an altitude of over 1,400m above sea level. The waterfall consists of two streams, falling from a height of 70m, the right stream is the main stream, the left stream flows in parallel but the water flow is not as much as the right stream. The waterfall on the right is divided into two branches with two waterfall levels, the upper level is about 15m high, about 5m wide, there is a large amount of water flowing and radiating into the lower waterfall level, pouring into the abyss, forming A stream of cool water with gentle sounds, the surface of the lake at the foot of the waterfall only ripples. The water flow of the waterfall is evenly distributed in all seasons, all year round, the waterfall never dries up. The stream below is shallow but very cold because it is located at an altitude of over 1,000m above sea level. From Tien Waterfall, go down about 6km and you will see Nam Dan Ancient Stone Beach, or go up to the top of Deo Gio.
With its pristine beauty and inherent potential, Tien Deo Gio Waterfall has become an eco-tourism and cultural tourism destination that attracts tourists everywhere. In 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranked Wind Pass Fairy Waterfall as a national scenic spot according to Decision No. 4198/QD-BVHTTDL dated November 16, 2009.
