TPO - Ben Thuy Bridges I and II, Cua Hoi Bridge, North-South Expressway Overpass are 4 bridges crossing Lam River, connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. It is expected that another bridge will continue to be built, to serve travel, connect the two localities along the river and develop inter-regional economy.

The section of Lam River flowing through the Ben Thuy area, located on National Highway 1A, is about 650m wide. Due to the need for a permanent bridge with a wide bridge deck, bridges connecting the banks of the Lam River were gradually built.
In 1986, Ben Thuy I bridge was started construction. This is the first bridge on National Highway 1A connecting Vinh City (Nghe An) and Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh).
In May 1990, Ben Thuy 1 bridge was inaugurated and put into use.
The project has a length of 630.5m with 13 spans. The bridge was built using old technology with a steel truss structure.

Ben Thuy Bridge has great significance for transportation along the entire National Highway 1A, especially promoting the socio-economic development of the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh as well as localities in the Central Highlands. IV.
After Ben Thuy I bridge, in March 2010, the Ben Thuy II bridge project was started to connect from Hung Loi commune (Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An) to Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh). The project was completed in 30 months, with a total investment of more than 1,200 billion VND.
This is a project that contributes to solving the overload situation of Ben Thuy I bridge, in accordance with the national and regional road traffic development planning; Improve the operational efficiency of the Vinh bypass route. Ben Thuy II Bridge also connects to National Highway 8, ensuring continuous traffic on National Highway 1A even during the rainy season.
Ben Thuy II Bridge is designed permanently with reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete, with cantilever and bored pile drilling technology, which is the most modern technology today. The bridge has a total length of 3,640m, of which the approach bridge and main bridge across the river are 996m long, and the bridgehead roads on both sides are 2,644m long.
Bridge deck width is 25m, arranged with 2 motor vehicle lanes and 2 rudimentary vehicle lanes.
In February 2019, the Ca Hoi Bridge across the Lam River connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces was started.
The project has a total route length of 5,271 km; The bridge section is 1,728 km long, the main span bridge width is 18.5m, the approach bridge is 16m.
The highlight of Cua Hoi Bridge is that the main span uses an Extradosed balanced cantilever structure - the most modern bridge construction technology in Vietnam today.
Cua Hoi Bridge has 22 pillars and 85 Super-T beams. Main bridge width is 18.5 m, access bridge width is 16 m. The total investment of the project is 950 billion VND.
The architectural highlight of the bridge is located on top of the concrete column with a lotus bud symbol. This concrete column is also where the cable stays leading downwards are installed.
The road part of the project is designed according to level 3 plain road standards, the road bed is 12 m wide, the road surface is 11 m, including two motor vehicle lanes and two mixed vehicle lanes, design speed of 80 km/h. .
When completed, Cua Hoi Bridge will contribute to completing the coastal road through Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, improving the transportation system in the North Central region, creating conditions to promote socio-economic development, ensuring regional security and defense, connecting to National Highway 8B and National Highway 1 and reducing traffic on National Highway 1.
Hung Duc Bridge is located on the North - South highway section of Dien Chau - Bai Vot. This is the 4th bridge across the Lam River connecting the two provinces of Nghe An - Ha Tinh.
The bridge is designed to be 17m wide with a total value of more than 1,200 billion VND. Once completed, this is the longest bridge on the North - South highway section Dien Chau - Bai Vot.
The bridge has a large design and complex structure, so many workers have to concentrate highly to work.
After 2 years of construction, Hung Duc Bridge has now completed 61% of progress. It is expected that the bridge will be completed before Lunar New Year 2024 and completed in May 2024.
