(SGTT) - Kien Trung Palace is located inside the Hue Citadel, built by King Khai Dinh in the years 1921-1923. This is a unique project, with French, Italian and traditional Vietnamese architectural styles.
After nearly 5 years of renovation, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center opened its doors for the first time to welcome visitors to Kien Trung Palace on Lunar New Year this year.
Along with the relics of Thai Hoa Palace, Can Chanh Palace, Can Thanh Palace, Khon Thai Palace, Kien Trung Palace is one of 5 important works located on the Shinto axis of the Forbidden City under the Nguyen Dynasty. Photo: Hoang Le
Under the reign of King Minh Mang, the predecessor of Kien Trung Palace was a building called the three-storey Minh Vien pavilion (built in 1827), voted "First Scene of the Divine Palace". Photo: Hoang Le
During the period 1921-1923, Kien Trung Palace was completely rebuilt by King Khai Dinh in the neoclassical style, including French architecture, Italian renaissance architecture combined with traditional Vietnamese architecture. Photo: Hoang Le
