Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac relic site

The relic site is located in Lieu Xa village, Lieu Xa commune, Yen My district, related to Hai Thuong Lan, Mr. Le Huu Trac - Vietnamese great physician. He was born in 1720 and died in 1791, from Lieu Xa. He was a great physician, poet, brilliant writer, a progressive thinker deeply imbued with the spirit of humanity. After his death, the people and medical circles throughout the country worshiped him as a medical saint of Vietnam.

Temple of Literature in the Hai Thuong Lan Ong relic site

Over two centuries, in Lieu Xa, many relics related to the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong are preserved: Temple of Dr. Le Huu Muu, father of Le Huu Trac. There are also ordinations, couplets, and 18th century inscriptions. Dai Ton Church: Church of the Le family in Lieu Xa. Temple of Literature or Ba Sinh Pagoda: Built in the 17th century, restored in 1782, the year Hai Thuong Lan Ong returned from his mother's hometown to visit his father's hometown. Legend has it that the pagoda was built by Le Huu Kieu, Le Huu Trac's brother. This is also the base of the Northern Party Committee of Tonkin in the period 1942 - 1945 and the place where the Party's newspapers were printed. Tomb of the Le family, built in the 18th century. Hai Thuong Lan Ong Memorial House, built on the old land of the family in 1990. The communal house of Lieu Xa village was built in the early 20th century.

The annual traditional festival commemorating the great physician is held on the 15th day of the first lunar month, the day of his death. Since 2000, this memorial day has been chosen as the traditional day of people working in traditional medicine and pharmacy in Vietnam.
