Vai Gioi Cave is located in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province, located on a high mountain in Thung Nham eco-tourism area. Recently, Vai Gioi cave is one of the tourist attractions to visit when coming to Ninh Binh.
According to Ninh Binh Province Tourism Promotion Center, to climb to Vai Gioi cave, visitors must go through 439 stone steps. The cave is about 5000m² wide, containing many unique stalactites.

“Vai” is a verb that refers to the act of bowing one's head to show respect. “Gioi” is an ancient Vietnamese word synonymous with the word “heaven”. In the past, Vai Gioi Cave was the place where people of Hoa Lu citadel built an altar to pray for good weather and wind.

Vai Gioi Cave is divided into "hell level" and "earthly level". In the "hell level", there are many stalactites with legends left behind by ancient people such as Nai Ha bridge, Tam Sinh Thach, King of Hell's throne... Meanwhile, in the "earthly level", visitors can see flat rocks such as the simple, rustic life of reality.
