Keo Pagoda is located in Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province. The pagoda holds festivals twice a year, the Spring Festival on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year and the main Autumn Festival, from the 13th to 15th of the 9th lunar month. The September festival is associated with the story of Khong Lo Zen Master (September 13 is the 100th day of his death, and September 14 is the day of his birth). On the 13th, the opening ceremony was a procession commemorating the 100th passing day of Zen master Khong Lo. In the afternoon there are races. In the evening there will be a trumpet and drum competition. On the morning of the 14th, the birthday of monk Khong Lo is celebrated. After the incense offering ceremony, there is a procession consisting of a pair of pink and white horses with full saddles and 4 wheels pulled by people. Next are 8 magic flags, 42 people carrying precious bowls... On the afternoon of the 14th, at Gia Roi court, an artistic adoration ceremony took place, which is an ancient dance also known as "frog pounce dance". On the 15th, all rituals take place like on the 14th but there are some additional performances after the palanquin procession. Keo Pagoda Festival takes place crowded and bustling for 3 days and 3 nights with religious rituals and some traditional practices to commemorate the Zen master who has contributed to the country and through folk art performances has reflected reflects the lifestyle of riverside residential areas with the agricultural culture of the Northern Delta.
