It is known that Khai Nguyen Pagoda was formerly called ''Co Lieu Tu'', often called Cheo Pagoda, located in Tay Ninh Village - Son Dong Commune - Son Tay Town - Hanoi City, close to the relic site. History of Mang Son Temple. The pagoda's history dates back to the first half of the 16th century.

Over time, the pagoda has been restored and embellished many times by people and Buddhists. Currently, the relics with the longest historical date of the pagoda are two stone stele: one was carved in the Canh era. Hung the Nineteenth (1759); One was carved in the fourteenth year of Gia Long (1816) and the bronze bell was cast in the twenty-second year of Tu Duc (1870).

The ancient Tan Vien Pagoda's full name was "Tan Vien Son Quoc Tu". This is an ancient temple that dates back thousands of years. Tan Vien Son Pagoda is located in a very beautiful location on the Ba Vi mountain range - Hanoi.

Tan Vien Pagoda also has a Great Buddha Statue about 35m high, located right in the temple grounds, called Dai Thong Tri Thang Tathagata.
