The Cham tower complex at the Cultural and Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in Dong Mo (Son Tay, Hanoi) includes 3 towers. Among them, the main Kalan tower, Gopura gate tower and Kosaghara fire tower, are built at a scale equivalent to the Pokloogarai tower cluster in Ninh Thuan province. The project has a harmonious architecture of material culture and spiritual culture, and is an attractive destination for tourists when visiting the "common home" of 54 ethnic groups.
The Cham tower area was built on an area of 4,000m2, the main axis of the tower area is in the East-West direction, with the main Kalan tower being over 20m high; Gopura gate tower over 8m; The Kosaghara fire tower is over 9m high and the festival yard has a wall system with 2 steps up and down to visit.
The main Kalan tower, built of brick, has 3 floors of the same structure, each floor gets smaller as it goes higher and ends with a stone Linga on the roof of the tower. Siva statue (top), Cham dancer statue, stone pillars, hand-carved sandstone threshold attached to the tower.
At the entrance, the domed niche is decorated with stone columns, stone thresholds and stone statues. Stone is also the material of Linga and Yoni - two blocks of objects placed inside, in the middle of the main tower, expressing the profound fertility beliefs of the Cham people.
The fire tower has a high, boat-shaped curved roof, located within the boundary wall and in front of the right side of the main tower in the East direction, the tower's plan is rectangular, inside there is a dividing wall into the warehouse and kitchen. The tower has 2 floors, 3 doors with an area of 47.2m2, on a base height of 1.14m, decorated with the same pattern as the main Kalan tower. The fire tower is the fire stove of King Po KlongGarai.
Gopura gate tower, has the same architecture as Kalan tower but is smaller, has two interconnected doors and has 3 floors with a total area of 36m2, on a base height of 1.08m, this is the place to welcome guests of the king.
The festival yard is located between the gate tower and the main tower, with a total area of 65m2, 0.9m higher than the main yard floor. Surrounding the festival yard is a wall system around the inner tower 0.4m high, the outside 1.92m high compared to the inner and outer foundations. The maximum width of the wall is 0.56m. The four corners of the wall are 4 large square pyramidal pillars with a width of 1.9m and a height of 4.2m when viewed from the outside. The entire tower has 2 ascending and descending step systems built of bricks, creating 2 entrance and exit paths with a width of 1.2m and 0.25m wide steps.
This is also where every year the Cham people organize important festivals, imbued with folklore in the Cham community.
