Tibetan Temple was founded by Zen Master Minh Tinh (also known as Venerable Chon Pho-Nhan Te) in 1928 with the name Buu Huong Tu. At that time, the pagoda was just a small Buddhist temple built on a low hill with many ancient trees, for Zen monks to practice and save sentient beings. In 1937, after Zen Master Minh Tinh returned from his journey to the Buddha's land, he changed the pagoda's name to Tibet Monastery. The Tibetan Temple is currently located at 46B Thich Quang Duc, Chanh Nghia ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province. This temple belongs to the Vajrayana sect, and has been set a record by the Vietnam Record Book as "The temple with the largest statue of Bodhidharma made of hair.
