On Nguyen Xien Street, District 9, East of Ho Chi Minh City (about 20km from the city center) there is a world-famous temple, Buu Long Zen Monastery. People here still call it Buu Long Pagoda for short, very proud because this is one of the most beautiful spiritual tourist destinations in Vietnam.

Buu Long Pagoda was built in 1942, and in 2007 it was restored. The pagoda's architecture blends many different cultural features, from the reign of Lord Nguyen in Vietnam to Thailand, India, Myanmar... The total area of Buu Long Pagoda is about 11 hectares, with many trees and a very fresh atmosphere.

Thanks to its uniqueness, in 2019, Buu Long Pagoda was voted by American magazine - National Geographic as one of the 10 temples with the most beautiful Buddhist architecture in the world. Tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City all want to visit this place, both to pray and to see with their own eyes the uniqueness of Buu Long Pagoda.

Buu Long Pagoda's impression is probably due to its high-rise buildings with pointed towers and gilded paint. The walls of most buildings are painted white, making the top stand out even more. Buu Long Pagoda still has many meticulous details, skillfully integrating original Buddhist features together.

The most prominent highlight at Buu Long Pagoda is the Gotama Cetiya tower. This project is known as the largest stupa in Vietnam. It is 70m high, more than 2000m2 wide, built during restoration in 2007 and completed in 2013.

One more special thing, Buu Long Pagoda is a pagoda without incense or smoke. When coming here, visitors do not need to bring offerings or incense, but only need to be sincere and dress seriously. Every day, the temple is open for everyone to visit from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the noon time between 11:00 and 14:00, you can only visit outside and cannot enter the temple.
