In the first days of December, the highest mountain in the South welcomed thousands of people and tourists to pilgrimage during the year-end Thanksgiving season. According to the beliefs of most Vietnamese people, at the beginning of the year they go to ask for offerings, then at the end of the year is the time to return offerings and give thanks at temples and pagodas... In the South, Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) on these days is always busy. People and tourists go to the thanksgiving ceremony, which lasts throughout December.

The Ba pagoda system is associated with the legend of Linh Son Holy Mother Bodhisattva located halfway up Ba Den mountain. As a spiritual symbol in the religious life of Southern people, Linh Son Thanh Mau is worshiped at many pagodas in Tay Ninh, with the main place of worship located at the Ba pagoda system.

Next to Linh Son Tien Thach Tu - an ancient pagoda with 300 years of age is Dien Ba in a stone cave that is always filled with people and tourists paying their respects at the end of the year.

Not only offering thanks at the Ba Pagoda area, thousands of people and tourists also went to the top of the mountain to attend the lantern offering - a sacred ritual held on a large scale at the square at the foot of the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue.

Taking place on every Saturday night in December, the lantern offering ceremony is a moment for people and tourists to say goodbye to a peaceful new year, and send their wishes for a happy new year.

In Buddhist culture, lanterns represent wisdom, illuminating and guiding Buddhists. Each lantern is a good thought, a wish sent. At Ba Den Mountain, each wish is handwritten by local people and tourists on lanterns, creating a unique sacred experience at the highest mountain in the South.

Ms. Khanh Ngoc (Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "I have offered flower lanterns in many places, but the feeling of offering lanterns in the middle of a large square with floating clouds at the foot of the great Buddha statue of Tay Bo Da Son made me stunned. overwhelmed and emotional. The entire night sky sparkles among thousands of flower lanterns, creating a magical and sacred space."

The lanterns posted at Ba Den Mountain are assembled by the people themselves and written prayers with the hope that all wishes will come true.

Many tourists who did not have the opportunity to go to the top of the mountain on Saturday also gathered at the square at the foot of the Tay Bo Da Son Buddha statue to write their wishes on the lanterns. These lanterns will then be offered and prayed for by Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area in the thanksgiving ceremony every Saturday night.

In particular, on this occasion, many tourists write their wishes on the lanterns that will be offered during the Opening Ceremony of the world's largest sandstone Maitreya Buddha statue on the top of Ba Den Mountain on January 28, 2024. . More than 20,000 lanterns from Buddhists and tourists from all over will be offered in the opening ceremony, creating an unprecedented night of lantern offering on the top of Ba Den mountain, towards Maitreya Bodhisattva who represents joy and renunciation. complete happiness.

Known as a famous spiritual destination, Ba Den Mountain welcomes millions of people to make a pilgrimage each year and show their gratitude and respect to Linh Son Thanh Mau.
