However, due to changes in administrative boundaries, now the Bong junction area is the border between 6 districts: Ha Trung, Hoang Hoa, Hau Loc, Vinh Loc, Yen Dinh, Thieu Hoa.

For a long time, the Bong junction area has been famous for its beautiful natural scenery, charming mountains and water, and unique spiritual culture.

According to local legends, the river confluence areas have an important position in the river basin. This place is often inhabited by primitive people and ancient Vietnamese people. According to the map of distribution of archaeological relics in the confluence area of Ma and Chu rivers of Thanh Hoa Historical Research and Compilation Board, there are many relics in the area around the confluence of Ma river - that is, Ba Bong intersection. Archaeological relics of the Do Mountain culture period, Dong Son culture period, which are No Mountain relics (Vinh Loc), Thinh mountain relics, Quan Yen I, Quan Yen II (Yen Dinh), Bu relics Ngon, Bai Xa (Hau Loc), relics of Ma Ho, Ma Chua, Bai Ganh (Hoang Hoa). The above archaeological relics were discovered by archaeologists and said that around the Nga Ba Bong area, there are many places where ancient primitive people lived.

In particular, this place is imbued with historical and cultural depth associated with typical relics, especially spiritual relics. With a series of relics such as: Co Bo Temple, Han Son Temple, Cay Thi Temple, Linh Xuc Pagoda, Ly Thuong Kiet Temple... Bong Junction area is one of the places with vibrant religious and spiritual activities.

Looking out from Ba Bong Temple to the riverbank, the scenery still has a primitive look, attracting people to their own emotions.

Han Son Temple is known as a place with charming landscapes, a land of sacred vitality

Previously, Nga Ba Bong was bustling day and night with boats going back and forth, ferrying passengers from Ha Son wharf (Ha Trung) to Hoang Khanh commune wharf (now Hoang Xuan commune, Hoang Hoa district) and vice versa. When the ferry was no longer used, at Nga Ba Bong there was a pontoon bridge with a channel to make it more convenient for passengers to cross the river, so it was crowded.

Spiritual cultural tourism

In the area around Nga Ba Bong, there were many temples and shrines in the past. Nowadays, they have only been partly restored and embellished in both Han Son area (Ha Trung), Phong Muc area (Hau Loc) with temples. Duc Ong (famous general Le Tho Vuc during Le Trung Hung's reign), the temples of Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh, Co Bo temple, Co Doi temple, Co Tam temple...

In particular, Han Temple (also known as Third Mau Temple or Third Than Phu), Ba Bong Temple (also known as Co Bo Temple or Co Ba Than Phu) are historical and cultural relics of the commune. Ha Son was built over 500 years ago.

Through many ups and downs of time, the relics of Han Temple and Ba Bong Temple have had periods of being completely demolished, in which the palanquin procession and Co Bo shadow procession where the "National Mother of the People prayed for" were also been forgotten.

The temple is majestic and ancient with a lifespan of hundreds of years

However, the "Heroic Spirit" land given by the king has been renovated, restored, and modified many times by people and visitors from all over. Over time, people from everywhere and local communities still eagerly visit, offering incense and smoke to pray for blessings for a peaceful life and good crops.

It can be said that this is the one-of-a-kind place where the "Mother of the Nation prays" (Other places worshiping Mother Goddess, worshiping Co Ba are just joint worship or just worship). Both of these temples were granted Provincial Monument status by the State in 1992.

In order to promote the advantages of the land, in recent years the Party Committee and local authorities have paid attention and focused on attracting investment in tourism development. Bong Junction is now an interesting destination on the journey "up and down the Ma River".
