Famous rafting village in Chau Doc
More than 60 km from the center of Long Xuyen city, the rafting village stretches from the confluence of the Chau Doc river extending to the headwaters of the Hau and Chau Doc river deltas (An Phu district). Chau Doc rafting village is a famous freshwater fish farming place in An Giang province in particular and the Western region in general.
This is a unique tourist destination that has developed in recent years. A special feature of Chau Doc rafting village is the floating houses and fish rafts nestled close together, forming a "village" along the river, stretching about 4 km.

Visitors can go by boat from Chau Doc or drive to Da Phuoc commune, then get off the boat to visit the rafting village, experience the village life of the people, how the people raise aquaculture in cages, experience river environment.

Mr. Lai Van Tien (32 years old, living in An Phu district) shared that he often takes foreigners to visit the rafting village at the confluence of Chau Doc river.
“I think that taking passengers to visit villages is also a way to promote our country's culture to international friends. It's normal for me to receive four to five trips a day to transport passengers to the villages. If invested properly, this place will be a unique tourist destination with its own identity, contributing to the development of the local tourism industry," Mr. Tien said.
The colorful "shirt" of the village
On the afternoon of September 21, Mr. Le Trung Hieu - Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Center of An Giang province said that around the end of December, the most unique and colorful rafting village waterway in the West will be put into operation. from Chau Doc river confluence to Cham village, upstream of Hau river.
“The project is located in Phuoc Tho hamlet and Ha Bao 2 hamlet, Da Phuoc town, An Phu district. This colorful raft village waterway is more than 1km long, painted in six colors including red, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple on all 161 rafts and boats (also known as net kites) raising all kinds of fish. Famous soft drink in An Giang. Each raft house and fish cage is painted one color, in order," Mr. Hieu said.

Mr. Hieu further informed that when the project is completed, it will create a unique and unique landscape of the Mekong Delta.
"Due to the topography, looking down from above, there will be patches of colors interwoven, creating a colorful scene, a unique highlight of the river junction area seen from many directions. On the other hand, when investing in colored lights at night, it will create a shimmering raft village reflecting in the water. This will be an ideal place for tourists to enjoy and take souvenir check-in photos," Mr. Hieu commented.
