(SGTT) – Cu Lao Gieng Church is located on an island of the same name, in Tan My commune, Cho Moi district, An Giang province. This work was built by the French and is considered one of the most ancient churches in the South.

According to the information board "Brief History of Cu Lao Gieng Church" located on the church grounds, the project was built from 1875, under the reign of King Tu Duc, until 1887, under the reign of King Dong Khanh. Photo: T.T
Most of the materials for building the church were brought from France. It took about 10 years for the church from the start of construction to completion of the basic parts and 2 years to paint the walls and decorate with patterns. Photo: T.T
