Ngu Chi Son Mountain is located on the border of Ta Giang Phinh commune, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province and Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province. However, even after five days, the god of thunder and lightning could not destroy the mountain range. They were so exhausted that they returned to confess to the Jade Emperor. The mountain range, damaged by thunder and lightning, pointed straight up like five fingers challenging the sky. Since then, the mountain range still exists and stands tall until today. People living in Ta Giang Phinh valley named the mountain range Ngu Chi Son, meaning five fingers.
