Dragon Waterfall is located in the area between Trung Ho village and Po Ho Low village, Trung Leng Ho commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. The waterfall is very high, with fast flowing water like a white dragon located halfway up the rocky mountain, so the waterfall is also known as Bach Long.
The road to Dragon Waterfall is quite convenient. From Lao Cai to Muong Hum market, ask any people you meet, you will be given directions to Trung Leng Ho, then continue to Trung Ho or Po Ho Low village to reach Dragon Waterfall. If you go by car, you need to stop and walk about 2km. If you ride a motorbike, you have to walk about 1km.
Only when you get close to the waterfall can you feel its beauty, when there is a lot of water and it pours down very strongly.
Dragon Waterfall has been known for quite a long time. Previously, the road was difficult to travel so few people went to the waterfall. Nowadays, many roads are paved with concrete, making it easier to travel, so many people come to explore and admire Dragon Waterfall.
The Dragon Waterfall area is still quite wild, with few tourist services or tourist support, so if you plan to explore it, you should prepare food and water for your picnic. Coming here, don't miss the opportunity to fish in the stream, because the stream area at the foot of the waterfall has a lot of fish.
At the foot of the waterfall is a fairly large pool of water, with a number of rafts reserved by local people and available for free. Many tourists enjoy rowing near the foot of the waterfall to feel the coolness of the water. However, this puddle is deep in places and the rafts are quite rudimentary, so to ensure safety, visitors should bring life jackets.
Between the two rocky cliffs, a lake-like space is created, where there is cool blue water, suitable for bathing and relaxing.
Coming to Dragon Waterfall, Bat Xat is very suitable for a weekend picnic. The water flowing from above creates a white column of water, steam radiates so the air here is very cool and fresh. In particular, the natural landscape of this area is also very majestic.
To prevent unexpected upstream floods, Lao Cai tourism encourages you to come here on sunny days to avoid rainy days. Besides, to protect the natural environment at Dragon Waterfall, you and your group must maintain environmental hygiene, do not litter indiscriminately and absolutely do not negatively affect the lifestyle of indigenous people.
The beauty of Trung Leng Ho Dragon Waterfall comes not only from its dragon-like shape but also from the steep cliffs on both sides of the waterfall. Above the cliff is grass and green forest trees, contrasting with the pure white water. At the foot of the waterfall, a large, clear and cool lake is formed, painting a beautiful picture.
To take tourists to visit the falls, people make rafts with ropes.
