Possessing majestic natural scenery and unique waterfall terrain on the sea, Hang Rai in Ninh Thuan makes anyone who has ever set foot there stunned.

Hang Rai is located in the south of Vinh Hy Bay, at the foot of Nui Chua National Park, about 35km from Phan Rang city. The name Hang Rai was given because this is where many species of otters live. If you are lucky, you can see otters walking in groups looking for food or returning to the cave to rest.

The second explanation comes from the fact that there are many otter trees grown here, a tree that extracts oil to paint on boats to help waterproof them when sailing.

Rai Cave is made of ancient coral stone, located close to the edge of the sea, with the coral part floating on the water surface like a giant stone slab. The coral rock structure makes the surface of the rock beach convex and jagged with sharp rocks and rock holes, like on the surface of Mars or the Moon.

This ancient coral reef was originally a coral shelf and is highly appreciated both geologically and historically. About 1,800 years ago, sea level at that time was 20 meters higher than now. 1,000 years later, the sea level gradually receded, revealing the shape of today's ancient coral reef.

If you take a walk around this cave area, you will feel the ingenious sculpting of the creator's hand, with the wonderful harmony between the sea and the mountains as well as a panoramic view of the ancient coral beach. .

Below the edge of the ancient coral reef is another rock shelf to the north, also known as Da Muoi beach. According to local people here, every time the tide rises, sea water overflows onto the rocky beach, and then recedes, leaving stagnant water in small stone holes. This water is exposed to the harsh sunlight of the sunny land of Ninh Thuan, evaporates and becomes salt deposits.

This salt rock shelf is also special in that, when the tide rises, the water overflows onto the rock surface, meets the slope and spills back into the sea, creating the image of amazing waterfalls on the sea surface. Another special feature of this rock shelf is that the color changes according to sunlight and sea surface over time every day.
