Each region has a unique flower, Moc Chau is the "specialty" of plum blossoms. This flower is also known as "Moc Chau Muse". From early January to mid-February every year is the time when Moc Chau plum flowers bloom. Thanks to the pure, gentle white color of the flowers, everyone wants to set foot here once.

Location to "hunt" for Moc Chau plum blossoms

Moc Chau plum flowers are different from other regions, blooming in large and white clusters, creating a unique feature. In Moc Chau, there are many famous places with many plum blossoms that tourists often visit to take photos.

Na Ka valley plum blossoms: Na Ka valley located on the Moc Chau plateau, about 16km from Moc Chau farm town, is the most beautiful place to see plum blossoms. Coming here, visitors can witness with their own eyes hundreds of plum trees planted close together in straight rows and completely covered. In particular, there are not only plum blossoms here but also other flowers planted alternately, making the scene even more colorful. Visitors can park their cars at people's houses and buy tickets to visit and take pictures with the plum garden.

Plum blossoms in pine forest in Ang village: The second destination to see Moc Chau plum blossoms that cannot be missed is the pine forest in Ang village. Located about 6 km from town, plums are also grown on a fairly large area here. In addition, Ang village also has other types of flowers and a spacious pine forest suitable for families who come here to rest and watch flowers on weekends. From the pine forest in Ang village, tourists move to the end of the lake, passing Chi Mi strawberry garden for a few hundred meters to reach their destination.

Plum blossoms in Phieng Canh village: Different from the above two points, Phieng Canh village has a "view" of houses looming under plum blossoms, with H'mong children playing. Also located on the road to Na Ka plum valley, Phieng Canh village closes itself at the foot of a small valley. Plums in Phieng Canh are mainly from ancient trees, so there are quite a few flowers, in return, visitors can freely take photos and play with the children here.

Mu Nau plum valley: Mu Nau is about 5km from Moc Chau town, the area of ​​this valley is up to 100 hectares with hundreds of perennial plum trees. Coming here, visitors will feel the characteristics of the Northwest highland slopes and admire the scenery from above to Moc Chau town.

Plum garden in Thung Cuong: Thung Cuong, also known as Van Ho plum valley, is located in Van Ho commune, Van Ho district, an area bordering Moc Chau. From the Peach Garden intersection, visitors travel about 3km to get there. The road into Thung Cuong valley is only suitable for motorbikes and small cars with high chassis.

Plum blossoms in Pa Phach village: Completely different from other villages, Pa Phach is located alone at the foot of the valleys of Moc Chau. The road to the village is quite difficult, visitors have to overcome a quite high slope, the roads are full of gravel, in return the scenery mixed with the colors of Moc Chau plum blossoms here does not disappoint anyone. The best time to enter the village is early morning, when dew drops still linger on the white plum flowers. In addition to plum blossoms, Pa Phach is also known for white mustard flowers, where there are fields of mustard flowers spreading across the hillsides and valleys.

Plum blossoms on the way to Long Sap border gate: The border gate is where border marker 255 between Vietnam and Laos is located. Moc Chau plum flowers in Long Sap are also grown in abundance at the foot of valleys like in Pa Phach, but the quantity and area are much smaller.

Get experience

About 180 km from Hanoi, Moc Chau district, has about 1,300 hectares of plums. From early January to mid-February every year is the plum blossom season, attracting tourists from all over to sightsee, take photos and camp. The plum blossom season in Moc Chau usually lasts about two weeks. Depending on the weather and humidity, the blooming time may vary each year. The ticket price to enter the plum garden is about 20,000 to 30,000 VND/person. Many families also camp overnight at the garden to see the flowers and have new experiences. Tent rental price for the day is about 150,000 - 200,000 VND, overnight rental price is 250,000 - 300,000 VND.

Moving to Moc Chau is quite easy with many means of transport such as private cars and passenger cars, prices range from 120,000 VND - 250,000 VND/person. If you are adventurous and like to travel and explore, you can choose a motorbike as a means of transportation. Traveling by motorbike is more compact and convenient, but it is also quite dangerous for those with weak steering. The road to the plum gardens has many slippery sections due to fog and high humidity. Tourists should choose a time to visit between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., do not go too early because the morning dew has not yet dissipated, and if you go too late, there will be no sunlight left to take beautiful pictures.

In addition, visitors should bring warm clothes, shoes, socks, and towels to keep the body warm because the daytime temperature in Moc Chau fluctuates between 12-17 degrees Celsius.
