The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports and the People's Committee of Bat Xat district to develop a plan to protect, manage, restore and use the scenic relic of the ancient stone road of Pavie in accordance with current State regulations.
According to many documents and records, the ancient stone road was built in the 20s of the last century, at this time, the French colonialists began their second colonial exploitation. Governor Auguste Jean - Marie Pavie was who surveyed and directed the construction of this route to transport food and agricultural products between the Northwest provinces of Vietnam. Therefore, the route is called Pavie. However, the people living here believe that, before that, their ancestors had conquered Nhiu Co San peak by this route and explored Lai Chau land, the French just continued to borrow the route from the Mong people. for transport.
Over time, although the path has been covered by grass and trees, the rocky road is still about 3 meters wide and extends more than 20 kilometers through complex terrain. In recent years, the ancient stone route of Pavie has become one of the journeys to discover magnificent nature that cannot be missed by tourists.

Pavie Ancient Stone Road is located at an altitude of about 1,000 m to 2,500 m above sea level. During the French colonial occupation, Nhiu Co San mountain was chosen by the French to build a military garrison because it had a strategic location and was the gateway connecting to Lai Chau province.
