Me Linh Flower Village - Big flower bowl for Tet holiday in the capital

On the outskirts of Hanoi, there is a flower village specializing in providing a variety of flowers and ornamental plants for the capital and many neighboring provinces. That is Me Linh flower village, which has become a big flower granary for many years.

Me Linh flower village is located 30 km from the center of Hanoi, near Noi Bai airport. Visitors can travel by motorbike or take bus number 7 to come here. From the visitor center, follow through Thang Long bridge, go through the overpass into Thang Long industrial park, turn onto the road to the industrial park about 5km to the flower village.

Perhaps names like Nhat Tan flower village, Ngoc Ha flower village or Nghi Tam, Quang Ba are too familiar to the people of the capital. Although not old, but Me Linh has become the main supplier of flowers for Hanoi and the northern provinces during Tet and holidays.

The profession of floriculture has been here for more than 20 years. Me Linh soil is most suitable for growing varieties of roses. On frosty nights, the  Me Linh Flower Village  shimmers under the light of hundreds of lights that are lit running across the flower fields.

At first, people planted spontaneously, then saw that flowers could bring economic benefits, they gradually expanded the area, changed the crop structure, and multiplied the area. Up to now, floriculture has brought a prosperous life to the people.

People in Me Linh grow many kinds of flowers such as roses, chrysanthemums, peonies, lilies, lilies, peonies, gladiolus... But the most are still roses of all kinds, velvet roses, red roses, yellow roses. , Italian roses, French, Dutch ... The flowers here have bright, diverse and eye-catching colors that attract anyone to visit.

If in 1995, Me Linh commune only had 2ha of flowers, now the whole commune has 236ha. Today in Me Linh most households grow flowers, flowers in the fields, flowers in the garden, flowers everywhere in the village.

Many households have also boldly switched from growing traditional roses and chrysanthemums to flower varieties from Thailand such as gourd flowers, Rupines flowers, Zupini... These flowers are very expensive, but in return, the economic efficiency is higher. 2 to 3 times that of traditional flowers.
