Ayun River is a tributary of Ba River, flowing entirely within Gia Lai province. Although not too big, this river has a lot of interesting things to explore.

According to the Vietnam Interprovincial River Basin List, Ayun River has a length of 192 km and a basin area of 2,855 km².

Originating from streams in the north of Ayun commune, Mang Yang district, the river flows southwest, forming the boundary of Chu Se and Mang Yang districts.

Then the river turns south and southeast, flowing through Phu Thien district before flowing into Ba river in Ayun Pa town.

According to historical and cultural researchers, the Ayun River basin is the birthplace of the Gia Rai people, an ethnic group with a population of over 500,000 people, most of whom reside in Gia Lai province.

Flowing through rolling mountainous terrain, this river has a majestic and wild landscape.

The river scenery changes with the seasons. During the rainy season, the river flows rapidly and carries a lot of mud. In the dry season, the river water is clearer and the flow is quite gentle.

The water level lowers, revealing smooth sand dunes in the middle of the river.

This is a spacious playground for local children.

Shallow river sections are ideal places to enjoy the cool water.

The Ayun River bed is also a place of livelihood for many residents in the area.

Pinfish and lagoon fish are famous products of the river flowing between the vast Gia Lai mountains.

For many centuries, the Ayun River has been the source of water for hundreds of ethnic villages living in the basin.

Ayun Pa town - the third largest urban area of Gia Lai province - has a name associated with this river...
