Mui Dien - The First Place to Welcome the Sun in Vietnam

The journey to Mui Dien, the first place to welcome the sun in Vietnam, brought us unforgettable experiences and profound emotions. Hãy nghe Nguyễn Thế Dương (Quảng Ninh) một travel blogger nổi tiếng bật mí .

Every land we pass through, every beauty captured in photos brings us special emotions. And with Mui Dien, considered the Easternmost point of the country, the emotions are even more intense. The first moments of dawn in Vietnam, the lighthouse lights, and the majestic natural scenery seen from above... perhaps all these images are unforgettable for us, especially those passionate about photography.

From a distance, Mui Dien looks like a giant turtle's back appearing and disappearing amidst the blue sky and vast sea. Mui Dien is one of the famous spots in Phu Yen, dubbed: "The Easternmost Point - The First Place to Welcome the Sunrise on Vietnam's Mainland."

We started our journey to explore the first sunlight of Vietnam from Saigon at twilight. Around 6 PM, our team members eagerly set off, beginning a new exploration. The car rolled on, and after covering more than 550 km, we reached Vung Ro junction on Ca Pass at nearly 4:30 AM. Despite our sleepy faces after more than 10 hours in the car, we couldn't contain our excitement knowing we were about to conquer the easternmost point of the country.

Mui Dien is near the Vung Ro Historical Site, famous for its legendary unnumbered ships. The road from Vung Ro junction to Mui Dien is about 8 km long. It is a beautiful asphalt road with little traffic. We decided to choose a suitable spot on this route to view the entire sunrise at Mui Dien.

The sky started to brighten. In the east, pink streaks appeared. Gradually, they spread and turned to golden orange with many layers of color, forming a long light line at the boundary between the horizon and the deep blue ocean. And then the moment we had been waiting for arrived. The sun gradually rose above the sea. The radiant halo, seen from afar, looked like a large fan sparkling with golden light, and we quickly captured that moment.

Along with the peaceful waves of Bai Mon, the mountain branch of Mui Dien carrying the distant lighthouse, the sunrise was like the final piece completing a perfect natural painting. The sun gradually rose higher, reflecting a series of light beams that looked like a golden path on the sea. Through the camera lens, the scenery seemed even more beautiful because it carried the emotions of the photographer. Especially, we were lucky to capture a rare image of the lighthouse still shining while the sun had already risen. Having photos of the first moments of dawn in Vietnam was an indescribable joy for us.

After breakfast, our team leisurely walked to Mui Dien. The path to Mui Dien is a well-maintained stone road running along the mountainside, with lush green trees on both sides. We could see Bai Mon in the distance. Near the Mui Dien lighthouse, on the right, there was a sign leading to Mui Rang Dong.

Following that direction, we reached a granite plaque engraved with the words: "The Easternmost Point - The First Place to Welcome the Sunrise on Vietnam's Mainland." Team members took turns taking souvenir photos here, marking this special destination and the wonderful feelings it brought.

From Mui Rang Dong, there was a short, quite steep path with many large rocks leading to the Mui Dien lighthouse. Although the path was challenging, the scenery was beautiful, like a worthy reward for those who conquer it. We excitedly climbed each narrow step in the lighthouse. Finally, standing on the tower's balcony, the members were genuinely thrilled and delighted.

From here, we could gaze out over a vast area of rolling hills and the deep blue sea. A beauty that left everyone speechless. The wind was incredibly strong. One team member, afraid of being blown away by the wind, sat down. It was challenging to hold the camera steady to capture the full view of Mui Dien from above. The wind whipped our faces, blowing our hair, carrying the salty scent of the sea. Standing with arms outstretched, we felt like free birds in the vast, sunny, and windy ocean.

Capturing a beautiful photo is already an indescribable joy, but capturing a photo with one's heart and emotions is immensely satisfying. The scenery here made us enamored, in awe, and wanting to keep looking at it. Even when leaving, we kept looking back and feeling nostalgic.

After descending from the Mui Dien lighthouse, on the way back, we saw a sign for Bai Mon on the right. Bai Mon is a relatively unspoiled beach with a long stretch of fine golden sand. Being shielded from the wind by the mountains on both sides, the sea here is quite calm and gentle. From here, we gained a new perspective on Bai Mon. Not from above as before, but a closer view of the moored fishing boats, the crystal-clear blue sea, and the small fish swimming leisurely as if no one had ever disturbed their space.

The journey to Mui Dien, the first place to welcome the sun in Vietnam, brought us unforgettable experiences and profound emotions. The majestic natural scenery, the radiant sunrise, and the beautiful moments captured through our camera lenses will forever be etched in our memories. This journey was not only an exploration of a destination but also an opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature, feel the grandeur of the land and sky, and deepen our love for the beautiful homeland of Vietnam.
