Doi Cave is located in Kho Muong Village, approximately 30km from the town center of Canh Nang, Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province. This area is part of the central region of Pu Luong National Nature Reserve. Due to its remote and relatively untouched nature, the simple beauty of the village has been preserved.

The road to Kho Muong Village via Doi Cave is quite challenging, with winding, steep, and curvy stone paths. To reach Kho Muong Village, it is advisable to travel by motorcycle as the road is narrow and not suitable for cars. Additionally, good driving skills are necessary to ensure safety. Despite the difficult and perilous road, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the mountainous forest scenery. Terraced fields stretch out prominently, adorned with the golden hues of ripened rice during the harvest season.

Kho Muong Village, home to Doi Cave, is also known locally as Hua Muong in the Thai language. According to local residents, "Kho" means root, and "Muong" means village. "Kho Muong" here signifies the root of the village, the place where humans first settled in this land.

According to history, about 300 years ago, some people from Lung Cao commune went hunting. During their hunting trip, they discovered a flat valley with abundant water from nearby springs. They decided to migrate here, clear the land, and establish a beautiful, picturesque village, as dreamy as it is today. Doi Cave in Kho Muong is a natural architectural masterpiece sculpted entirely by Mother Nature. With no human intervention, it retains its pristine, tranquil, and mysterious beauty. Formed from rock formations, Doi Cave impresses with its indescribable mystery, despite not being very tall, it is incredibly spacious.

Inside Doi Cave at Kho Muong, one can easily observe large rock formations interspersed with smaller ones. When sunlight filters through the cave entrance, the interior scenery becomes clearer. Tall rock columns, shaped by natural forces, create unique and captivating formations. Each person may see different shapes such as human figures, animals, or plants, depending on their imagination.

Moreover, the tall rock columns inside Doi Cave are home to climbing plants, adding a refreshing green hue and a strong natural presence. Stepping inside, one feels immersed in a mystical forest with the greenery of the leaves. Gentle breezes flow through the cave, bringing a cool sensation from the humid air and underground water currents inside the cave.

What's special about Dơi Cave in Kho Muong is inside, there's an open area likened to a natural volleyball court. Additionally, the cave features a mysterious alcove where bats live.
